Pillar House is a Grade II Listed Georgian building. Its front is graced with two wooden, Tuscan pillars believed to be from the mast of a ship wrecked off Boscastle Harbour in the 1790s when the house was being built.
The house retains many period features which have been tastefully combined with wooden double-glazing and modern ’on-demand’ central heating and hot water to provide a holiday cottage that is both elegant and cosy. The house has wooden floorboards and Persian/Himalayan woollen rugs throughout.
On the ground floor is a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge, with full Sky television, dvd/cd/iPod/mp3 players and wi-fi, and a furnished roof terrace with stunning views over the wooded Jordan valley and the village of Boscastle.
The first floor has three bedrooms (2 double and 1 single), all with iron bedsteads and 1400-pocket sprung mattresses to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep, and a bathroom with bath and powerful, over-bath, mains-fed shower.
Please be advised that we do not take bookings for parties with children under the age of three because of the high beds and steep stairs.
